Today is my first day of classes at language school. I'm a little bit anxious but really looking forward to jumping into new environment.
I'm typing from my roomie's laptop now. It's really helpful for me.
For this week my classes start in the afternoon, so I can do many things before noon. I wanna change to morning class though. I'm going to talk to my staff today.
Btw I had a really good time last night. My friends and I did a NABE-pary at Mayumi's. It was fun. Mayuko and I came back to the dorm by taxi. It costed only $26. It was helpful for us.
Ok, I'm going to wash my cloths.

At School
This is my first day at language school.
Here is a good place. It's clean and big and located in the center of the city. It's great.
I took a placement test this morning and had a orientation of the course. I was placed in a TOEFL class. I don't know why but I'll see. Classes start tomorrow afternoon. I wanted to be placed to morning class but now I'm in the afternoon class, so I'll talk to the staff to change my class.
Anyway I'm looking forward to attending the class.
I'm going to have a NABE-party with Mario-san, Tatsuya-san, Kitajii(maybe) and Mayuko, who I met at school today at Mario's tonight. My class starts 2:30PM tomorrow,so it's good to have a party at night :P
I'm planning to join many activities. And I'll go to see New York City Ballet on Wednesday. I'm really excited about it.

My new dorm
I moved to my dorm today's afternoon. My roomie is a korean girl and she's really nice. She lend me her laptop so I can post this blog. I'm really appreciate her kindness.
We hanged out today and went to the concert at Merkin Concert Hall. I found the concert in the internet in this morning, so I was lucky. It costed $32 but it was so good. It was a chamber music concert and the artists was New York Philharmonic Ensemble. The performance was great. The program includes Webern's "Langsamer Satz". I have written a program note of this tune before so I was so looking forward to listening it. It was surprising that I like a tune by Turina even though I've never heard of his name. It was a good meeting to his music. He studied music in Paris, so we could hear french elements in his music like Debussy, Ravel, or Faure. Anyway I had a good time.
After the concert we had a dinner in a chinese restaurant. I ate noodle with soup and niku-man (I forgot the english name). They were so good, because we are asians, I think.
Tomorrow my school starts. I have to wake up early so I'm thinking of going bed early tonight.
Oh, by the way, staying DC was so great! I went all around the world famous places in DC. Sean guided me all around. It was good. It was windy but sunny day. DC downtown looks like Kyoto I think. The building were quite different of course but the atomosphere was a kind of similar.
Anyway it was a nice stay, and I wanna visit again someday.

The first two days in NY
I arrived in NY safely. Finally.
I'm in YH at Aster Place now.
Today is the seconde day of staying in NY. The city is huge and nice.
My roommates are good and I talked with women from Denmark and from Chili.
When I had breakfast today, I met korean girl and she was really cute and nice.
She was not so good at speaking English but she's a master student and wants to study in NY and take a Ph.D. I think it's so nice but difficult. It's nice idea though.
Before noon I walked around the Hostel and bought shampoo and mineral water.
At 2pm I met Shoji in front of TKTS and we hanged out. He took me to a nice bagle restaurant and we ate bagle. It was good. After that we went to my language school and dorm. We also went to charches. They were really nice. I like charches. In the charch we went secondly, we met Shoji's friend and his friend. He is a singer and his friend is a trombone player. It was nice to meet them. We went to a concert by New York Philharmonic at Avery Fisher Hall. We could buy a ticket for only $14! I was really glad to go to the concert.
Tomorrow I'm off to Washington DC. I have to wake up so early, so I'll go to bed soon. Good night.

New Blog
Hi, I'm Saori, a university student in Japan.
I've just started my new blog here.
I'm thinking of writing about my everyday life in NY on this blog. I'll fly to NY in 5 days and stay there for about 1 month. There I'll go to a language school and learn English for 3 weeks. I wanna improve my english skill, so I'll practice writing here. I also want to write my everyday life in NY down here.
But I'm feeling free to write anything here, so I might make a lot of mistakes in my english. When you find my mistakes, please correct it.
Thanks.
